# Prom

> Hi, this is a cult. Come in. Every group has its own lore, rituals, and strange ways of being together. Prom is where all of it lives. This is not a place for an audience. It is a place for Members. Bring something of yourself. Take part in the ritual. Recruit the people you care about.

Prom is a social app for groups with their own lore, from a friend group to a whole community, on iOS, Android and the web. A group gets a Circle: one chat for everyone, where each thing the group does together lives in its own Charm, made by asking Delphi. A Circle is at its best around 20 members, but communities of hundreds have run on Prom. Its own words for what it is: a cult, made of Circles, Charms and Delphi.

## Vocabulary
- Circle: one group chat for everyone in the group, and the place its Charms live. A Circle has no channels or threads; each activity gets its own Charm instead
- Charm: a small interactive thing a Circle shares and returns to, such as a creature the group keeps alive together, an astrology reading for the whole Circle, or a birthday told through everyone's memories. A Charm lives in the Circle's chat, and every member of the Circle is already signed in to it
- Delphi: Prom's AI, who helps a Circle make its Charms
- Ritual: what a Charm becomes when a Circle keeps coming back to it
